What Others Are Saying:

Hey Jim, I'm a customer. . . your [Fractal Planner] software
is the BEST time mgt software I've ever used . . . -- Brad Costanzo

Jim -- I've been using Fractal Planner for the last three days. This
is planning software made for exactly the way my mind works. It's
completely intuitive -- you can make changes and edits in seconds, not
minutes. You can readjust priorities on the fly -- in seconds not
minutes. I love it. I had given up on all planning software, but I'm a
complete convert to the Fractal Planner. The last 3 days I've been more
efficient than any day in the last 7 years. -- Chris Shaver

"Factal Planner is the 1st planning tool we've ever actually used for
more than 2 weeks. It allows you to work in a natural way, unlike
BaseCamp, 5PM, and countless others that force you into their way of
working. Been using it for 6 months and we totally love it!" -- Dan and
Jennifer, Founders, Ask Dan & Jennifer

Fractal Planner is one of the best new productivity enhancing tools
I've discovered in the past year. If you're like most of us, managing
multiple different projects with many moving parts, you MUST have a way
to track your progress and make sure you're not missing a single
important element. With so many tasks for the average web project, it's
getting harder and harder to do this. Fractal Planner lets me more
effectively manage these difficult complex projects, and eases the
stress involved by letting me see AND review what still needs to be
done, visually seeing that I haven't missed anything. I owe the
successful launch of my recent new video membership site to Fractal
Planner, and am currently re-launching my new ecommerce platform and
shopping cart using it. Thanks Jim! -- Brett Fogle cydec

"I work in a profession where people are interrupting me all
day long- and I need to take care of things for them. I can have
incredibly long (and I would call them meaningful and productive
days)-- yet not ever get to any of the things I actually had planned to
do.
This is stressful!!!!! However, honestly due to the nature of my job --
it's not really going to change.
Now I am no longer discouraged about that stress. I started using the
Fractal Planner about two weeks ago at work -- I've noticed that when I
can control my schedule -- and I'm not being interrupted -- I make the
switch much more quickly to my agenda because it is so organized. I can
see exactly what I need to be doing- how it fits into my overall
goals/direction and that effeciency definitely has toned down my stress
levels and made me more productive during the times that I am in charge
of my time." -- Lori Gibson

"Using it every day and getting more done. Including stuff
that takes emotional energy and therefore usually put it off . . ." --
Sarah Hurty

"Just signed up for [The Fractal Planner]* this morning -- I
didn't even know I needed it or what it really did. But you haven't yet
created a product that I don't absolutely delight in. So signing up was
automatic ;-) I've just added all my Master plans and sub plans etc and
I already feel 100% better, efficient and somehow lighter getting all
that stuff purged! Love your work sir!" " -- Gian Visser

"It got even better during the day - I can honestly say I
haven't had as productive a day as this in the last 3 years. And
there's no question it was thanks to Fractal Planner (in fact you
should see all the crossed off items in my Master Plan!) Thanks again
Jim Gotta feeling this puppy's going to be life changing!" -- Gian
Visser, later that same day.

"I have used your Fractal Planner for two weeks now, and I am
thrilled with the ease of use and effectiveness. I've struggled with
using a paper planner and having a work life that's all online. Now my
planner and my work can be displayed in one place. Thank you!" -- Kathy

How To Get More Done With Less Stress In The Face Of Ever-Increasing
Complexity

Read this page carefully, and you will discover:
1. Three completely disruptive (and sometimes hidden) causes of stress
and procrastination -- I call them "flow killers" -- AND why they
will continue to get worse over the coming years.
2. An effective (and easy) antidote for each flow killer.
3. An online planning tool that helps you apply the antidotes
naturally as you work.

First, . . .

Meet the Flow Killers . . .

Flow Killer #1:
Have you ever tried to work and couldn't focus?
This often happens when you have a lot going on. Perhaps you have 4 or
5 projects going, and you're not sure which one to work on in the
moment. And maybe you're also having car trouble, you need to come up
with a wedding toast by the weekend, and an old friend just came to
town wanting to spend time with you.
That's Flow Killer #1:
Flow Killer #1: Too many things going on in your head
Keeping too many things in your head makes it difficult to figure out
what you want to work on in the moment, and it makes your brain tired.
Next, there's Flow Killer #2:
Have you ever been working on a project, marking stuff off your to do
list, and then suddenly found yourself getting side-tracked by
something you hadn't planned for?
For example, suppose you were trying to send out an email message to
your house list, but when you went to log in to your auto-responder
service, you found you couldn't remember your password.
So you requested a reminder, and then . . . you couldn't remember which
email account was on file.
So you searched all of your email accounts looking for the reminder, .
. . and there was nothing.
So you went and white-listed the auto-responder's email address in all
your email accounts. And finally the message came, and you were able to
log in.
However, . . . now you couldn't remember the flow of the message you
were going to send out. You had it in your head, but now it's gone.
That's Flow Killer #2:
Flow Killer #2: Unexpected complications
Unexpected complications can completely kill your flow.
Sometimes the complications will keep expanding as you try to solve
them -- like a bad dream (or a good Kafka novel).
After an hour of chasing down rabbit trails, you're either:
A) mumbling under your breath "Now, where was I?"
Or B) you actually managed to keep your place in your head for all
those spots where you had to go off the trail, and now you're mentally
exhausted.
Can you relate to something like that?
Finally, there's Flow Killer #3:
Have you ever started to work on a project, only to find that you have
absolutely no enthusiasm for working on it?
That's Flow Killer #3:
Flow Killer #3: That "why don't I want to work on this?" feeling
And that feeling often leads to procrastination. It's inexplicable
sometimes. You have something you WANT to accomplish. It will deliver
great benefits if you get it done, but you find yourself cleaning your
office, or playing solitaire on the computer instead of working on it.
Those three flow killers:
1. Too many things in your head
2. Unexpected complications
3. and that "why don't I want to work on this" feeling

waste a lot of time, create lots of bad feelings, and destroy your
productivity.
But that's not the worst of it. In all likelihood, these three flow
killers are going to get worse and worse over the coming years.
Why?
Well, first, let me assure you that it's largely not your fault! I know
that sounds like a cheesy line from a diet product ad, but it's true.
The problem is complexity. Too much complexity is the primary cause of
all three flow killers. The complexity of your modern life is very
likely just too much for your brain to handle on its own. It wasn't
designed for this.
And complexity is increasing every year, faster than ever. Some
estimate that the complexity of the world is more than doubling every
10 years right now. No generation has ever had to deal with as much
complexity as we deal with today, and it will continue to get worse and
worse, faster and faster.
And, if you don't have an effective way to deal with these things, you
will soon experience even more stress than you do now, and even less
productivity.

How to Restore Flow, and Reduce Stress,
No Matter How Complex The World Gets

OK, so how do you deal decisively with all three flow killers, so you
can get more done with less stress over the coming years of increasing
complexity?
Here's how:
First, the antidote to flow killer #1
Antidote #1: When you feel overwhelmed -- capture everything floating
around in your mind (or your inbox), and process it.
When you capture everything floating around in your head, and get it
into your system, you gain confidence that you won't lose anything, and
you no longer have to keep them in your mind.
Many planning systems teach this. David Allen teaches this in "Getting
things Done", Eben Pagan teaches this in "Wake Up Productive", Steven
Covey teaches this in "7 Habits of Highly Effective People", and it's
built into the Franklin/Covey planner.
Unfortunately, few planning tools support this crucial habit.
Second, the antidote to flow killer #2
Antidote #2: When you encounter an unexpected complication -- make
solving it a part of your plan.
You simply must get unexpected complications into your plan as soon as
you can.
It's best to enter the task of dealing with the complication as a
sub-task of the task it's preventing you from completing. And break it
down to actionable steps right away.
And, since the unexpected complication might lead to even more
unexpected complications, you need to be ready (and able) to repeat
this process, if needed, until the whole ugly thing gets in your plan.
Using this procedure makes it so you don't have to "keep your place" in
your head, and you can simply mark things off in a linear manner again.
(It also helps you show your boss why it took you twice as long as
planned to finish the project.)
Unfortunately, almost no one teaches this. And many planning tools
don't allow you to continue breaking tasks down below a level or two,
so it's very difficult to put new details into your plan when you need
to.
Or, they don't allow you to enter new tasks quickly. They don't keep up
with your brain, so it's difficult to get everything in your head into
your plan before you start forgetting things.
Third, the antidote to flow killer #3
Antidote #3: Whenever you find yourself asking "why don't I want to
work on this?" -- you need to get clarity about HOW to do the task, and
WHY you're doing it.
There's reason to believe that procrastination is actually good for us.
It's there to slow us down. It's our brain's way of saying, "hey, are
you sure you can even do this thing, and that it will fit well with
everything else you have to do?"
Unfortunately our brains don't usually tell us why they're slowing us
down. They just give us that uneasy feeling that makes us not feel like
working on the task at hand.
However, most of the time, I've found that if I ask those two questions
("how do I do this task?", and "why am I doing it?"), my brain gets the
clarity it needs and lets me work with freedom and oomph again.
These 3 antidoes suggest a very simple productivity system consisting
of just 4 habits:

An Extremely Simple Productivity System

1. Do stuff in your plan and mark it off.
2. If you have too many things going on in your mind, or in your
inbox, process them and clear your mind.
3. If you encounter an unforeseen complication, make its solution a
part of your plan. (Usually as a sub-project of the project you
were working on).
4. If you find yourself procrastinating on a task or project a) break
your task down further, b) make sure it fits in with the other
parts of your plan.

That's it.
And the beautiful thing about this system is that ALL you really have
focus on is the first habit. The last three are naturally triggered
when you lose your flow, and they give you a definitive way to get your
flow back.
However, . . .
It's even easier to carry out these habits if you have planning
software that's designed to support the 4 habits.
Specifically, the optimal tool must have the following three features:
1. It must be truly fractal, and able to expand to any depth, so you
can break things down further anytime you get stuck.
2. It must help you focus, without distraction, on the parts of your
plan you need to focus on right now.
3. It must have an intuitive interface that allows you to plan as fast
as you think.

And that leads us to the Fractal Planner software.

The Fractal Planner Was Specifically
Designed To Keep You In That
Sweet-Spot of Enthusiastic Productivity

Once I understood how complexity gererates the 3 flow killers, and had
some idea about what an effective planning tool should do, I set out to
find one. And I couldn't.
So I started designing a little productivity and planning tool for for
myself. Over time, that tool grew to become the Fractal Planner. And,
I'll tell you, it has worked wonders for me! From August, 2010 until
today, I have never been so productive, and with so little stress.
Then, one day, for some reason, I started showing friends and business
colleagues what I was using to manage my life and business. There was
generally only one response:
I NEED THAT!
And that encouraged me to think about offering the Fractal Planner as a
service that people from all walks of life could use to increase
productivity and reduce stress in these days of ever-increasing
complexity.
Let's take a little closer look:

1. Here's how the Fractal Planner helps you clear your mind.

The Fractal Planner has a clear mind wizard.

The "Clear Mind Wizard" helps you get things out of your mind, and into
your plan.

You just dump everything out of your mind, and then put it in your
plan. Then you get back to work.

2. Here's how it helps you deal with unexpected complications.

Unexpected complications come up all the time.

The fractal planner allows you to continue breaking down tasks to any
level. You don't have to know all the details ahead of time. You can
keep adding to your plan as you naturally discover how big it actually
is.

You can expand your plan, on the fly, as you go.

And the interface keeps up with your brain, because it uses text-based
entry to capture tasks. One task per line, and you can even use one
level of indentation to get your tasks into your plan lickety split.

Just enter your tasks as text, one per line, so you can plan
as fast as you think (or at least as fast as you type).

3. Here's how it helps you deal with procrastination.

The fractal planner allows you to very quickly get clarity about both
how to do your tasks, and why you are doing them.
We just saw how the Fractal Planner allows you to continue breaking
down tasks to any level as you're working. And that's the key to
getting clarity about HOW to do the task at hand.
As for the WHY question, . . . the fractal planner allows you to get
clarity about why you're doing a task by allowing you to easily zoom up
a level or two and make sure your current task actually fits with your
overall goals.

Zoom out by clicking on the links at the top of the planner.
Zoom in by clicking on the task description.

And if you zoom out, and things seem unclear, you can rename things,
rearrange things and re-plan things as needed. Then you can start
working again with confidence.
Also,

4. The Fractal planner is very natural, smooth and intuitive.

There's the text-based entry, which allows you to enter all your tasks
at once, so you can plan as fast as you think.
There's the batch marking features, which allows you to mark things off
without having to navigate through complicated menu structures first.
And there are stock procedures which allow you to add complex projects
you?ve done before with the click of a button.

Easy action buttons, easy text entry, and stock plans
help you plan as fast as you think.

If you're not already following a good planning system, I think you'll
find the Fractal Planner to be very intuitive.
And if you're already following one of the excellent productivity
systems out there, like:
* David Allen's 'Getting Things Done'
* Eben Pagan's "Wake Up Productive"
* Tony Robbins' "Time of Your Life"
* Steven Covey's "7 Habits of Highly Effective People"
* or nearly any other system . . .

. . . I think you'll be amazed at how well it fits right in with what
you're already doing. And, in all likelihood, it will make those
systems feel even more intuitive and easy to follow.
Fractal Planner is just $9.95/month. You can sign up today. You may
cancel at any time.
Give it a go. I guarantee it will make your productivity go up, and
your stress go down.
Just click on the orange "add to cart" button, and start taming
complexity and restoring your sense of flow today.

Enter your search keyword(s) and the keyword "zorgium" into the search input field of http://bing.com, http://yahoo.com or http://google.com.

Heads up: There's an ongoing spamdexing of Google searchbot algorithms. Sites that are 'copies of copies' and cloaked sites which include Zorgium keywords presented to search engine crawlers yet garbage content presented to human visitors were hosted on thousands of IP addresses and domains registered immediately after the introduction of Zorgium in November of 2009. The Hostgator/'The Planet'/Softlayer datacenters in Texas seem to be the epicenter of this activity in conjunction with anonymously registered domains of various TLD's but primarily .info domains at Godaddy which, in our opinion, has some sort of connection to the domains of goldmint.in and goldmint.org. Google has begun to notice this and has begun to lower the ranking of these sites and put our original sites back on top of the search rankings. These actions, as far as we can tell, negatively impact the use of the keyword 'zorgium' as a search term and provided little benefit, if any, to the perpetrators.

ZORGIUM note to content providers: If you don't want your page to appear in Zorgium's search abstraction then put an exclusion for "Zorgium" in your web server's robots.txt file.
